Siculo-Punic, Cape of Melkart c.330-305 BC, TCGKS-4, Jenkins records nineteen examples of this coin struck from these dies. A truly lovely coin with golden highlights. Silver tetradrachm, 17.10 gm., obv. charioteer driving a quadriga of rearing horses to right, holding kentron (goad) in right hand, reins in left hand, Nike flying above and crowning charioteer, Punic legend 'RSMLQRT' in exergue, rev. wreathed head of Persephone to right wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, four dolphins around, (S.-, Jenkins, SNR 50, 47 [same dies, dies 016/R36], Jameson 598 [same dies], SNG Lloyd 1600 [same dies], BMC 12 [same obverse die]). Light grey tone with golden highlights, obv: good very fine, Rev: EF well centered, very attractive but tight flan, scarce. Jenkins records nineteen examples of this coin struck from these dies. A truly lovely coin with golden highlights.
